What are health care options for Tennesseans?

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) —- With the GOP healthcare plan removed from the House floor for a vote, millions of Americans have been left with decisions on what to do for health care.
We asked an expert, Blake McCoy from Independent Insurance Consultants, what Tennesseans can do.
McCoy said there is a chance that by 2018, those who have the Affordable Care Act in East Tennessee will have no insurance options left to choose from.
As of right now, no insurance companies in our area will be offering the ACA as an option. A carrier would have to change their mind, or a whole new insurance carrier would have to come in and offer this coverage for East Tennesseans.
Blake suggests that those struggling with the ACA look for a off-exchange plan if this were to happen.
He also advised that those looking for new coverage can purchase a short-term policy.
